The Wrong Drama

A couple snuggles in a wintry scene in front of a snowy cabin

Don’t you just love a good romantic story? The charm, the passion, the age limit on love … wait, what?

Yes, apparently the Hallmark network is being sued for age discrimination, for claiming leading ladies are “aging out” and age is a negative attribute that doesn’t fit the network’s image.

As with most age-discrimination cases, there may be no smoking guns—unless someone comes up with hard evidence that confirms the offending remarks.

But if it’s true, it’s a shoot-oneself-in-the-foot moment for Hallmark. As the population grows older, wouldn’t a smart executive team want the programming to grow up, too?
