It’s the Deadlifts

A couple of years ago, my son told me his hamstrings were screamin’. Must have been those Romanian deadlifts, he said—which totally made sense.

When our muscles get sore, it’s generally because of the work we did. The tissues break down, then they build back up.

But I hear older friends say of their own muscle pain, I must be getting old. Never mind that they tried a new workout yesterday, or climbed the stairs several dozen times while cleaning out a room.

Hey, our muscles got sore when we were younger, too.

It’s part of a normal cycle.
