Making a Point
Man on the Inside is a Netflix show featuring Ted Danson as a widower who moves into a retirement community to solve a crime. It’d make an interesting assignment for gerontology students.
They could watch it and note where they witness ageism, whether it was resolved—and if not, how it could be.
For example, an early scene mocks older adults who aren’t familiar with smartphones. It’d be fun if one of the older characters said, “I bet you don’t know how to use the tools I grew up with, either …”
… and if the younger character said, “Good point.”
