More Different

A team was demonstrating their software, showing that they'd added more diverse photos—including people with many skin colors, gender presentations, and disabilities.

The app was made for building training programs, and the new photos offered more options to help everyone feel included.

In the Q&A, I asked about representing older people. They hadn't thought of that but were willing to consider it.

Then one guy said, Of course, we couldn't do that in this photo shoot, because we were focusing on diversity.

What?! Did he think there's no diversity among older adults?

We get even more different over time.
