Maybe It’s Work
As part of a school project, I looked at stock photos and the keywords used to describe them—and it was striking to see what a difference the subject’s age would make.
I particularly looked at pictures of people using computers, with distressed looks on their faces.
For youngers, the pained appearance was always the result of hard work, stress, or a computer acting up.
But for olders, that same expression was labeled as “struggling” and “confused.”
You can’t judge a book by its cover. You can’t judge a computer user by their age.
But we can sure stop trying.
