No Apology

Three notes taped on a wall with the words Sorry Not Sorry

Sonya Renee Taylor’s language in “The Body is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love” is powerful and perceptive, and I realized that much of it could be accurately applied to age, too.

For example, “We must not minimize or negate the impact of being told to hate or fear our [age] and the [ages] of others.”

“Knowing that there was a point … when you once loved your [age] can be a reminder that [age] shame is a fantastically crappy inheritance.”

“Making peace with your [age] is your mighty act of revolution.”

All true. Self-love takes many forms.
