One After Another

At the gym this morning, I chatted with someone new, and it came up that I write and speak about ageism.

He mentioned some terminology that explains how muscles change as we age, then made a joke about “ODTAA syndrome,” which apparently stands for “one damned thing after another.”

To be fair, we were in a workout atmosphere, and the guy’s career was in medicine—but I still marveled that, when talking about age, people often want to talk only about the physical.

What about our other aspects—intellectual, emotional, spiritual?

We’re actually composed of one marvelous thing after another.
