Shameful Indeed

When I heard about the Indeed article/infographic that describes the career phase of 55- to 65-year-olds as "Decline," I thought about the bully who pushes you down and guffaws, "Why are you lying on the ground?"

That bully knows damned well why you’re down there. And Indeed should know damned well what pushes many older adults' careers downward—starting with unfounded misinformation like their write-up.

Plus: age-biased employment practices; treating maturity and experience like liabilities; putting employees into little age-group categories, then playing in-group/out-group games with people’s lives …. 

It’s time to dump ageism—indeed!—and watch how people thrive.
