Sharing Warmth [a throwback]

In a Zoom meeting, a colleague was trying to describe what she does, to a newcomer—but somehow her usual eloquence just wasn't coming forth.

Later, she explained that her inner furnace had started up—and sitting in a hot room, on a hot day, it took away her ability to concentrate for a minute or two.

The rest of us—all women—nodded in understanding. Two of us shared some of our own rising-temperature moments, and one said she hasn't been there yet.

No jokes, no teasing. Just a few grown-ups talking about menopause.

Normalizing a normal experience.
