The Haunting

A friend sent me an article titled “Ageism Haunts Some Tech Workers in the Race to Get Hired.” I suspect the writer was trying to keep things balanced—not to overstate the case—but I wanted to uncap my big red pen and slash out the word “Some.”

Because if ageism isn’t plaguing that job search today, it’s out there waiting to pounce.

And it’d be fair to strike out “Tech,” too. In today’s world, no one gets away unscathed.

In fact, we could delete most of the headline and the words would still ring true.

Ageism Haunts Workers. Period.
