What a Card

Several "AGING IS LIVING" postcards scattered on a table

Ageism Awareness Day is just 70 days away, on Oct. 9, and here’s another fun way to celebrate: Print your favorite pro-aging message on a 5” x 7” postcard, and bring a bunch to the grocery store, drug store, gift shop … wherever greeting cards are sold.

Then, keep an eye out for the birthday cards with ageist or ableist messaging—the ones that joke about hearing, memory, hills that people are supposedly over—and slip one of your special cards right in front, so shoppers will get that message instead.

I bet people will try to buy them.
