A Mile High Win

The Colorado Job Application Fairness Act now prohibits Centennial-State employers from asking about a prospective employee’s age, as well as dates of birth, school attendance, and graduation.

And on certifications and transcripts, key dates can be redacted.

This is a win not only for job seekers, but also for hiring teams, who’ll be forced to take off a set of blinkers they might not even have known they were wearing.

Here’s hoping that employers not only comply with the law, but also embrace what it means ….

A good hire is about skills, talents, experience, aptitude. It’s not about age.
