Baby, No

In an office, a professional woman looks down and pinches the bridge of her nose, with her laptop in front of her

A student who applied for nursing school got as far as the online interview, but then made a serious mistake.

When asked, “Why do you want to be a nurse?” she mentioned her work at a care facility and reportedly said a few things like, “I just love my old people,” and, “They’re so sweet—they’re like my babies.”

Holy moley.

The interview team decided their limited nursing-school openings should be awarded to candidates who weren’t predisposed to approaching grown-up adults with condescension.

Hopefully, helpful feedback like that gets back to the interviewee … and into the broader prerequisite curriculum.
