Cast No Stone

It’s an amusement of mine to scroll through Hollywood-award-show photos and see what the glamorous people wore. And lately I find myself secretly cheering when an older actress I recognize looks (to me) like she’s “aging naturally.”

Of course, when I see someone I suspect of surgery, I feel somewhat let down.

Fortunately, author Stella Fosse reminded me recently that my judgment is unwelcome. In a post on Substack, she pointed out what I sometimes forget ….

“When women find it necessary to change our bodies to meet social or career expectations, the issue is about the system, not the individual.”
