Change Your Filters

A cartoon drawing of an older man holding up a smartphone and poking at it with his index finger

There’s a set of short, animated videos from HelpAge International called “Break Free from Ageism.” In my favorite one, an older man is poking at his smartphone, frowning, and making dissatisfied little sounds … then we see.

The guy’s playing with photo filters and trying to decide whether he looks best in bunny ears, a rainbow crown, or a floating hat and sunglasses.

The vignette concludes with words onscreen: “Ageism is beliefs we have about people because of their age. Change your filters.”

I won’t spoil the other stories in the series, but I hope you’ll check them out.
