Dare to Change

A hand holding a young, sprouting tree, cupping the roots gently.

Years ago, a famous podcaster and their guest lampooned a hypothetical older employee they’d sketched as clueless and mean.

The words put into this straw-man fallacy’s mouth included, “What’s the cloud and where is it?” “What the hell’s going on?” and—regarding a younger coworker—“I hate you.” Laughing at their caricature, they continued the destructive generational stereotypes.

I drafted an email, but it was way too long—and I never did hit Send.

Recently, however, this high-profile communicator has changed their tune and started to talk about ageism.

Keep up the good work, pro-agers. The message is catching on.
