Mountaintop Convo

At the top of a mountain, four guys were posing for a group selfie, so I offered to be their photographer. After the shoot, one said, “You look just like a woman I went to high school with.”

“Boulder, 1978,” I bragged. “I can’t believe that,” he replied. 

He seemed like a cool guy, and I don’t think it came from an ageist I’m-saying-this-to-flatter-you place. Maybe 1978 just sounds like a long, long time ago. (It’s 46 years, specifically.)

Anyway, it gave me a chance to say, “Nothin’ wrong with 63,” smiling. He nodded, and the conversation moved on.
