Mature Audiences

Here’s another podcast-based age-bias blooper I heard recently. I can’t relay the whole story, because it’s rated R—but it involved a married couple, a romantic moment, and a mistakenly open door.

You get the idea.

Anyway, the happy (and surprised) couple was in their 50s—a fact that inspired the podcast host to remark, “I applaud their youthfulness.”

And I thought, What?!? Do you actually think that nookie and grown-ups don’t go together …?

Funny thing is, that podcaster is 49. Which makes me think, Dude, if ever there was a time to check your ageism, this is it.
