Sensible in Space
When William Shatner became the oldest person ever to fly into space (he was 90), he didn’t have to face any discriminatory upper-age limit—although he did have to be at least 18.
He also had to meet certain height and weight requirements, be able to fasten and unfasten his harness in 15 seconds, and be able to withstand 5.5G in force—though I’m not sure how they could test that.
Here’s what they could test: Could he climb 7 flights of stairs in a minute and a half? Apparently, he could.
Hooray for sensible evaluations instead of ageist assumptions.
