The Challenge

There were hurrahs and some other feedback on a recent post, where I called attention to ageist incidents I’d witnessed. Some people encouraged me to keep calling them out—and others noted we can’t deny there are challenges as we age.

That’s true. If we live long enough (and sign me up for that plan, please!), there will likely be challenges. But individually, we don’t actually know what they’ll be.

And we'll never know how much of the challenge we face is due to biological senescence and how much is due to cultural ageism—until we stop the cultural ageism.
