Strike It Out

A woman with stylish gray hair, beneat the word "invisible" with the "in" crossed out, to make "visible.

What would you do with a multi-talented, multi-generational team of women, to celebrate International Women’s Day? If you were Jacynth Bassett of Ageism is Never In Style, in 2021, you’d launch an amazing—and timeless—campaign.

This year was the first time I saw the work they created, with its clever cross-outs that change words, like “invisible” to “visible,” “irrelevant” to “relevant,” and “grandma to simply “grand.”

Phrases get the treatment too: From “still got it” to “got it,” “past your prime” to “your prime,” “age-appropriate” to “age,” and more.

It’s a stunning campaign, aptly named: Strike Out Ageism
