That Bites

It’s pretty shocking when you learn that Medicare coverage (a U.S. thing) doesn’t include dental care. Apparently, taking care of one’s teeth in one’s later years—potentially several decades—is a luxury reserved for those who can afford it.

Yes, I understand that government funds don’t magically appear out of nowhere. But it’s also important to understand, this is one reason the idea of “retirement” itself is a luxury.

How many of us truly want to be asking Can I afford my teeth? Or do I have to let ’em go?

Everyone deserves quality care, no matter our age.
